Code of Conduct

Landwash Brewery is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and harassment-free work environment for all staff and customers. No one has the right to harass anyone, at work or in any situation within this organization. We love our community and strive to ensure everyone entering Landwash Brewery feels safe, secure, and respected.

 

Value Statement

Beer is nice. We believe everyone should be nice to each other, especially in the pursuit of making and enjoying nice beer.

 

Unacceptable Behaviours

  • Misuse of power or authority

  • Unwelcome conduct, comments, gestures, or contact which causes offense or humiliation

  • The reference to a person using terms or pronouns that do not align with the person’s affirmed gender

  • Physical or psychological bullying which creates fear or mistrust, or which ridicules or devalues the individual

  • The exclusion, intimidation, or isolation of individuals

  • Inappropriate gestures/comments

  • Inappropriate sexual advances

  • Discrimination based upon gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, or religion

  • The act of posting offensive or intimidating messages through social media or email (i.e., cyberbullying)

  • The act of setting an individual up to fail (deliberately)

 

Violations of Code of Conduct

At Landwash Brewery, we are committed to providing a harassment free space for employees, customers, and suppliers. In the instance that suppliers are in violation of this code of conduct, Landwash Brewery will suspend continuing business with them. Customers that are found to be acting in an unwelcoming and unsafe way to other customers or employees will be asked to leave. Leadership, supervisors, and employees are also expected to uphold our code of conduct, and if found in violation will undergo investigation, corrective action, and may include termination of employment.

Section 22-24.2 of the Newfoundland and Labrador OHS Regulations require every workplace to have a harassment prevention plan. This plan is distributed to employees of Landwash Brewery, and includes a detailed reporting plan should harassment, or violations of our code of conduct, occurs.
