Smiling Land Scratch Tickets

The Smiling Land contest is open to residents of Newfoundland and Labrador who are of legal drinking age.  No purchase necessary. Must be 19+ to purchase alcohol, play, or redeem. Prizes to be claimed at either Landwash Brewery (181 Commonwealth Ave, Mount Pearl) or participating NLC locations. Prizes must be claimed by December 31, 2025. All winners must answer a skill testing question. Chance to win one of eight hundred and thirty-three 473ml cans of Smiling Land. Overall chance to win is one in three.  Also, opportunity to win one of one hundred 12-packs of 355ml cans of Smiling Land. Chances of winning are one in twenty-five.  

OFFICIAL RULES AND REGULATIONS  

 

1.    Overview – 2500 Smiling Land Scratch Tickets will be produced and will be placed in speciality marked cases of Smiling Land (12 pk). Each Scratch Ticket will have an overall chance of winning 1 in 3. Chance to win 1 of 833 cans of 473ml cans of Smiling Land. Additional chance to win 1 of 100 12-packs of 355ml cans of Smiling Land. Chances of winning are 1 in 25.  

No cash equivalent and no substitutions will be made except as provided herein at the Sponsor’s sole discretion. The Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize for one of equal or greater value if the designated prize should become unavailable for any reason.  

 

2.    Eligibility – This promotion is open to persons who are at least nineteen (19) years of age at the time of claiming their prize. Open to residents of Newfoundland and Labrador.  

 

3.    Sponsor – Landwash Brewery, 181 Commonwealth Avenue, Mount Pearl, NL A1N 4L3.  

 

4.    Timing - Holders of the winning Scratch Tickets have until 12 midnight on December 31, 2025, (the “Expiry Date”), to present a winning Scratch Ticket to the retail store located at 181 Commonwealth Avenue or participating NLC location to claim their prize. Should a winning Scratch Ticket not be presented to the retail store location or participating NLC location on or before the Expiry Date for any reason whatsoever, the Prize shall be null and void.  

 

5.    Release – By receipt of any prize the winner agrees to release and hold harmless the Sponsor, and their respective subsidiaries, affiliates, suppliers, distributers, advertising/promotion agencies, parent companies, and all company’s officers, directors, employees and agents (the “Released Parties”) from and against any claim or cause of action including but not limited to personal injury, death, or damage to or loss of property, arising out of participation in the Promotion or receipt or use or misuse of any prize.   

 

6.    Publicity – the Sponsor has the option to publish, except where prohibited, the name, photograph, voice, opinions, hometown and province of any winner for promotional purposes in any media, worldwide, without further payment or  consideration for the Sponsor’s legitimate business interests.  

 

7.    General Conditions – The Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend and/or modify the Promotion, or any part of it, if any fraud, technical failures, or human error impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the Promotion as determined by the Sponsor in its sole discretion. The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the Scratch Tickets or to be acting in violation of the Official Rules and Regulations or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any person to deliberately undermine the legitimate operation of the contest may be in violation of criminal law and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, the Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extend permitted by law. The Sponsor’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules and Regulations shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.  

 

8.    Limitations of Liability – The Released Parties are not responsible for (1) any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by entrants, printing errors or by any of the equipment or programming associated or utilized in the Contest; (2) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the entry process or the Contest; (3) technical or human error which may occur in the administration of the Contest; (4) any injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from the entrant’s participation in the Contest, or receipt or use or misuse of any prize. No more than the stated number of prizes will be awarded. In the event that production, technical, seeding, programming or any other reasons cause more than the stated number of prizes as set forth in these Official Rules and Regulations to be available and/or claimed, the Sponsor reserves the right to aware only the stated number of prizes.  

 

9.    Disputes – Except where prohibited, the winner agrees that: (1) any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Contest or any prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by Courts of Newfoundland and Labrador; (2) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of- pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this Contest, but in no event attorney’s fees; and (3) under no circumstances will the winner be permitted to obtain awards for, and the winner waives all rights to claim, indirect, punitive, incidental and consequential damages and any other damages, other than actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased.   

 

10. Legal – All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules and Regulations, or the rights and obligations of the Winner and the Sponsor in connection with the Contest shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador.
